GameSpotter privacy policy
GameSpotter has two sides. Players use it to find gaming cafés, snooker and pool halls, table tennis clubs and other play venues nearby, book a machine, join tournaments and write reviews. Café owners and their staff use it to time sessions, record receipts and costs, and run their café's public page. This policy explains what the app stores, why, and the choices you have.
Who is responsible
FunPixelNest operates GameSpotter. Contact us at info@funpixelnest.com about anything in this policy.
What we store
- Your sign-in details. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture. If you sign in with your mobile number, we receive that number, verified by a one-time SMS code sent through Google Firebase. We use these to sign you in and to show who added an entry.
- Your café's records. Everything you and your team enter: café name and settings, rates, people and their email addresses, receipts, costs and play sessions. Receipts can include a customer's name and mobile number if you choose to enter them.
- Your player profile (players). Your gamer tag, name, city, favourite games and a 6-character player code. Your gamer tag appears publicly on tournament lists, leaderboards and reviews. Your mobile number, if you add it, is stored privately and shared only with a café you book.
- Bookings, tournament entries, reviews and reward hours (players). When you book, the café sees your name, gamer tag, mobile number and booking details. When a café adds your player code at the counter, it records your visits and hours there for its loyalty reward. Reviews you post are public.
- Café listings (café owners). To list a café we store its name, address, phone number, exact location and 1 to 3 photos you choose, plus machine counts, prices and a live count of busy machines. Once verified, these are visible to everyone using the app.
- Technical data needed to run the service. Google Firebase, which hosts the app's database and sign-in, processes data such as IP address and device information to deliver the service and keep it secure.
Location and photos
Players: the app asks for your phone's location to sort cafés by distance. Your location is used on your phone only; it is never sent to us or stored. Café owners: when you tap "Use my current location" while listing your café, that location is saved as the café's address on the map. Photos are only the café photos you pick to upload. The app does not read your contacts or other files, and it has no advertising or advertising trackers.
Verification of cafés
FunPixelNest reviews each café's photos, address, location and phone number before it appears to players, and may call the café's number to confirm it. Players can report a review or tournament; FunPixelNest reviews reports and removes content that breaks these rules.
Who can see what
A café's ledger (receipts, costs, sessions, partners) is private: only people whose Google email address the café's owner or admins have added to the café can read or change its records. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to profile customers.
Google Sheets export
If you choose to export, the app asks for permission to create files in your Google Drive. That permission only covers files GameSpotter creates; the app cannot see your other Drive files. The exported sheet belongs to you and stays in your Drive.
Customer details cafés enter
If you record customers' names or phone numbers, you are responsible for having a reason to keep them and for telling your customers, as required by the laws that apply to your café, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. GameSpotter only uses these details to show your café's own customer history.
Advertising
The player side of the app may show ads from Google AdMob. When ads are on, Google may use your device's advertising ID and general device information to show and measure ads. Where the law requires it, the app asks for your consent first. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings (Google → Ads). Ads are never shown on a venue's ledger screens, and we don't share your bookings, points or profile with advertisers. Google's policy: policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Where data is stored and how long
Records are stored with Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) in India (Mumbai) and protected by Google's security, with encryption in transit and at rest. We keep a café's records until its owner deletes the café or asks us to delete it. Deleting the café in the app (More → Café settings → Delete this café) removes it for everyone.
Players can delete their account in the app (Me → Delete my account). Your account is permanently deleted 7 days after you ask. If you sign in again during those 7 days, the app asks whether to keep your account and cancels the deletion if you choose to. After 7 days we delete your sign-in account, player profile, private mobile number, favourites, notification settings, your reviews and your entries in upcoming tournaments. Cafés keep bookings and bills from your visits as their own business records, and tournament results already posted stay under your gamer tag.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app stores a notification token for your phone together with your account so we can send you messages: booking alerts and a daily summary for venue owners and staff, and for players a daily reminder and news of tournaments at venues you marked as favourites. You can turn each kind off in the app (Me → Notifications) or turn off notifications for GameSpotter in your phone's settings. Tokens are deleted when they stop working or when your account is deleted.
Mobile numbers and player codes
When a venue records a visit with your mobile number, the app makes a player code from that number so the venue can keep your visit history and reward points. If you add the same number to your GameSpotter account, you can see those visits and points. Your full number is only visible to you and to venues you have visited.
Your choices
- Edit or delete any receipt or cost from the Log.
- Ask the café owner to remove your email from the café.
- Change or turn off the app's location permission in your phone's settings at any time.
- Delete your account in the app (Me → Delete my account, or More → Delete my account).
- Email info@funpixelnest.com to access, correct or delete data about you, or to delete your account without the app. We reply within 30 days.
Children
GameSpotter is meant for people aged 13 and over. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
